Nonresident military spouses who are in Connecticut solely to be with a service member stationed here under military orders are exempt from Connecticut income tax on wages earned in Connecticut, as long as the spouse and service member share the same state of domicile (which is not Connecticut). The spouse continues to pay taxes only to their home state.
Restrictions
Federal Military Spouses Residency Relief Act (MSRRA) applies. Does not cover pass-through entity income, real estate rental income, or royalties earned in CT.
