North Dakota provides free military funeral honors for all eligible veterans and current military members. The ND National Guard coordinates the ceremony, which includes flag folding and presentation, rifle volley, and playing of "Taps." All veterans with an honorable, under honorable conditions, or general discharge are eligible.
Restrictions
Eligibility is the same as for burial in the ND Veterans Cemetery. Arrangements are made through a funeral home or directly with the cemetery office at 701-667-1418. Active duty, retirees, Guard/Reserve with at least one completed enlistment, and eligible veterans all qualify.
