The Michigan Veterans Trust Fund provides one-time emergency financial grants to wartime-era veterans (and peacetime veterans who earned the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal) who face an unforeseen short-term financial crisis, covering things like rent, utilities, home repairs, or medical bills. Veterans 65 and older who served peacetime with 180+ days of service became eligible in December 2021.
Restrictions
Apply through your county veterans affairs office or call 1-800-MICH-VET. Grants above $3,500 require Board of Trustees approval. Dependents of eligible veterans can apply in certain circumstances.
