Massachusetts pays a cash bonus to veterans who listed Massachusetts as their home of record for at least six months before entering the military and who served during a designated wartime period or combat operation. Payments range from $100 to $300 depending on service location and duration. If the veteran has died, the family (spouse, children, parents, siblings) may claim the bonus instead.

Restrictions

Administered by the Veterans' Bonus Division of the State Treasury. Covered conflicts include WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War, and more recent combat operations. Apply online through the Bonus Division. Veterans discharged "Other Than Honorable" solely due to sexual orientation or HIV status may still be eligible.
