Maryland operates five state veterans cemeteries throughout the state. Eligible veterans and their qualified dependents (legal spouses, minor children, and certain adult dependent children) receive a burial plot, grave liner, headstone, and interment services at no cost. Pre-interment planning applications are available so veterans can confirm eligibility before they pass.
Restrictions
Five cemetery locations: Allegany County (Flintstone), Anne Arundel County (Crownsville), Baltimore County (Owings Mills), Dorchester County (Hurlock), and Prince George's County (Cheltenham). Maryland residency required for Guard and Reserve members. A small fee applies for Guard/Reserve interments.
