Families of Illinois veterans killed by hostile action or during the Global War on Terrorism (on or after September 11, 2001) can receive a state survivor compensation payment of up to $3,000.

Families of Illinois veterans killed by hostile action or during the Global War on Terrorism (on or after September 11, 2001) can receive a state survivor compensation payment of up to $3,000. Vietnam veteran survivors whose veteran's death was service-connected due to Agent Orange exposure qualify for $1,000. WWII service-connected hostile-action deaths: $1,000.
Restrictions
Apply through an IDVA Veteran Service Officer. Documentation of the veteran's death circumstances and discharge paperwork required.
