Idaho veterans facing an extreme emergency, such as an accident, job loss due to disability, or a catastrophic event, can apply for a one-time emergency grant of up to $1,500 to cover food, fuel, rent, utilities, or other urgent needs. Surviving spouses and dependent children of eligible veterans also qualify.

Restrictions

Must be an Idaho resident. Idaho must be home of record during service, or the veteran must have lived in Idaho for at least 5 years. Emergency must have occurred within 90 days of the application. Maximum one grant per 6-month period; lifetime cap of $1,500. Contact Office of Veterans Advocacy at (208) 780-1380.
