Idaho offers Gold Star license plates to immediate family members of military service members killed during active duty in a war recognized by Congress. Surviving spouses and parents of the deceased service member pay no specialty plate fees at all. Other qualifying family members pay a reduced fee, a portion of which supports veteran programs.
Restrictions
Requires Gold Star License Plate Verification Form GS-001 plus documentation proving family relationship to the deceased service member (marriage license, birth certificate, DD Form 1300, or death certificate).
