Georgia veterans who were honorably discharged on or after July 1, 2005, after 90 or more days of active federal duty, can get a one-time free one-year sportsman's license covering all state-paid recreational hunting and fishing privileges. The license is available once per veteran and includes big game, waterfowl, and saltwater fishing.

Restrictions

Apply by mail with a photocopy of DD-214 and current Georgia driver's license or ID. Allow 3-5 days processing. After this one-time license expires, veterans can purchase discounted lifetime licenses.
