Resident veterans with a 100% permanent and total service-connected disability rating, or who qualify for the federal VA automobile grant, or who are former Prisoners of War, may receive free West Virginia hunting, trapping, and fishing licenses. Active duty service members on leave or furlough do not need a license at all; their leave papers serve in place of a license.
Restrictions
Application available on the WV Division of Natural Resources website. Authorized under WV State Code §20-2-28. Qualifying veterans receive a Class V license from the WVDNR.
