Veterans with a service-connected disability who were honorably discharged can get a free Annual Pass to North Carolina state parks (normally $90-$150). The pass covers entrance fees at reservoir recreation areas, ferry passes, boat launches, and equipment rentals at select parks. Enacted by State Law 2024-45.

Restrictions

Submit the request form with a copy of the VA Summary of Benefits Letter. An upgraded $150 pass with 4WD beach access at Fort Fisher is also available. Most NC state park day-use is already free; this pass covers paid amenities.
