Veterans who are blind, have lost or lost use of a limb, or are permanently and totally disabled as certified by the VA are entitled to one free set of Disabled Veteran specialty license plates.
Details
Veterans who are blind, have lost or lost use of a limb, or are permanently and totally disabled as certified by the VA are entitled to one free set of Disabled Veteran specialty license plates. The plates are exempt from both registration and special plate fees. Un-remarried surviving spouses of these veterans also qualify for the free set.
Restrictions
Any service-connected disability (not just the above categories) can also get Disabled Veteran plates at normal registration + $10 special plate fee. Personalization fees still apply in all cases.
