Arkansas exempts qualifying disabled veterans from paying all state taxes on their homestead and personal property, in proportion to their level of disability. The exemption extends to surviving spouses and minor dependent children of veterans who died from service-connected causes or were killed in the line of duty. A letter from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is required once to establish eligibility; annual resubmission is no longer required (updated 2025). The homestead may include up to 160 contiguous acres.

Authorized under Ark. Code § 26-3-306. Updated by Acts 876, 880, and 407 of 2025 (effective for assessment years beginning Jan 1, 2025 and 2026). Apply through county assessor.
