Details

Colorado exempts 50% of the first $200,000 of actual value of a qualifying disabled veteran's primary home from property taxes. To qualify, the veteran must have a 100% permanent and total service-connected disability rating, or individual unemployability status, from the VA, have received an honorable discharge, and have owned and occupied the property since January 1 of the application year. The state reimburses the county for lost revenue. Application deadline is July 1 each year through the county assessor.

Restrictions

Amendment G (passed November 2024) expanded eligibility to include individual unemployability status starting with the 2025 tax year. State statute: §39-3-202(3.5) C.R.S.
