Indiana veterans who served during wartime and have a service-connected disability rating of 10% or more can deduct $24,960 from the assessed value of their primary Indiana home, directly reducing the property tax bill. Surviving spouses of qualifying veterans are also eligible. Apply at the county auditor's office.
Restrictions
Wartime periods include WWII (Dec 7 1941, Dec 31 1946), Korean Conflict, Vietnam (Aug 5 1964, May 7 1975), and Gulf War (Aug 2 1990, present). Apply using State Form 12662 or State Form 51186.
