North Dakota veterans with a service-connected disability of 50% or greater get a property tax credit that reduces the taxable value of their home. At 100% disability, the credit covers up to $9,000 of taxable value (equivalent to $200,000 of true and full home value). The credit scales by disability percentage, from $4,500 at 50% down to $9,000 at 100%. Surviving spouses receiving dependency and indemnity compensation from the VA also qualify.
Restrictions
Apply by April 1 of the assessment year to your local county assessor or director of tax equalization. Requires DD-214 and VA disability determination letter. Two disabled veterans married and living together cannot exceed 100% or $9,000 combined.
