Disabled and/or blind Nebraska veterans will be able to exempt one personally-owned vehicle from the Motor Vehicle Tax and Motor Vehicle Fee starting January 1, 2026. Standard plate fees, sales tax, and wheel tax still apply.

Restrictions

New benefit effective January 1, 2026. Applies to Motor Vehicle Tax and Motor Vehicle Fee only, other taxes/fees still due. One vehicle per qualifying veteran.
