Iowa veterans with a service-connected disability can buy a lifetime hunting and fishing license for a one-time $7 fee, compared to the standard annual cost. This license covers both hunting and fishing for the rest of the veteran's life. Prisoners of war (POWs) also qualify.

Restrictions

Apply using DNR Form 542-1412. Submit DD-214 and current VA disability letter. The $7 fee covers the administrative cost only. An optional hard card costs $6 more. Annual fish and wildlife fees still apply.
