Honorably discharged veterans with a 50% or greater permanent service-connected disability rating can get one set of Colorado Disabled Veteran license plates at no cost (registration fee and ownership tax waived for that vehicle). Vehicles displaying these plates get free entry to all 42 Colorado state parks year-round. Additional sets can be purchased for a one-time $50 fee per set plus regular registration fees.
Restrictions
Veterans who lost or lost the use of one or both feet/hands, or have permanent visual impairment, also qualify. Apply via Colorado Department of Revenue Form DR 2002. Handicap parking privileges require separate Form DR 2219.
