Illinois veterans with a 10% or greater service-connected VA disability rating, or receiving a total disability pension, get free hunting and fishing licenses, regardless of whether they live in Illinois or another state. You must present a DD-214 and a Disability Affidavit (obtained through IDVA). The affidavit must be carried while hunting or fishing.

Restrictions

Contact a local IDVA Veteran Service Office to apply for the Disability Affidavit. Non-resident veterans without a disability do not qualify for reduced fees.
