Disabled veterans who qualify for "DV" license plates pay zero vehicle registration and license fees on one vehicle. Qualifying disabilities include mobility impairment, loss of limb use, blindness, or a 100% VA disability rating due to a diagnosed disorder that substantially impairs mobility. DV plates also come with disabled-person parking privileges including free parking at meters.
Restrictions
Applies to one vehicle only (passenger car, motorcycle, or commercial vehicle under 8,001 lbs). Apply using form REG 256V at a DMV office. Cannot combine DV plates with POW plates for the same fee exemption.
