Every summer from Armed Forces Day (mid-May) through Labor Day, 2,000+ museums across the U.S. offer FREE general admission to active-duty military and up to 5 family members, art museums, science centers, children's museums, zoos, natural history museums. Co-organized by the National Endowment for the Arts and American Alliance of Museums.
Restrictions
Does NOT typically cover veterans or retirees, active duty + family only during the program window. Check arts.gov/blue-star-museums for the current year's participating museum list (changes annually). Bring military ID (CAC or dependent ID). Exception: SFMOMA (San Francisco Museum of Modern Art) offers FREE admission for veterans + 1 guest year-round, separate from Blue Star. Strong summer-family
