Arizona does not tax active-duty military pay. This includes pay received in a combat zone or area given combat zone treatment. It also covers pay received by National Guard members and reservists for active service. Applies from tax year 2006 forward.
Restrictions
Active-duty members with only military pay and no Arizona withholding may not need to file at all. National Guard and reserve active-service pay is also exempt. Statute: A.R.S. § 43-1022(19).
