Alaska residents who are veterans with a service-connected disability rating of 50% or higher can get a free permanent hunting, fishing, and trapping identification card. No need to buy annual licenses. Card holders are also exempt from purchasing a king salmon stamp and Alaska state conservation stamp for waterfowl hunting.
Restrictions
Must be an Alaska resident and apply in person at an ADF&G office. If residency is lost, card becomes void immediately. Apply online plus submit disability certification letter by email to adfg.license@alaska.gov.
