Details

Veterans with a total (100%) service-connected disability do not have to pay vehicle registration taxes, administrative fees, filing fees, or plate fees on one qualifying vehicle. This applies to a passenger car, one-ton pickup truck, motorcycle, or recreational vehicle. The exemption also applies if the vehicle is jointly registered with a spouse or domestic partner.

Restrictions

Does not cover personalized plate fees or required donations for specialty plates. Driver's license and ID card fees are also waived for 100% service-connected disabled veterans under §171.06, Subd. 2c. Statute §168.012 subd. 13.
