Arizona waives both the vehicle license tax and registration fees for veterans rated 100% service-connected disabled by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The exemption covers one vehicle at a time. Surviving spouses of qualifying veterans may keep the exemption until remarriage, though annual re-certification is required for spouses.
Restrictions
Requires a VA letter confirming 100% disabled status. Purple Heart recipients also qualify for a separate full exemption (see entry below). Statute: A.R.S. § 28-5432.
